Happy Easter!!

We had a great Easter this year. Unfortunately our pictures from Easter morning aren't very good. It was very cold and windy. Thankfully it warmed up after church. We went to Davis' cousin's house for lunch and an egg hunt. We ate too much! The kids had a great time hunting eggs. Ava even got in on the hunt. She had a wonderful first Easter. We all did. Davis and his brother jumped on the trampoline with all of the kids. They even played capture the flag with the older kids. My kids are so blessed to have a Daddy that would rather play with them than sit in front of a TV all day. We are all truly blessed.

Ava's 1st Birthday Party

We celebrated Ava's 1st birthday this past Sat. I made cupcakes instead of a traditional cake. She had a ball! She new what to do when she opened her gifts and she had no problem knowing what to do with her giant cupcake. I still can't believe that she is one. They grow up way too fast.

The Memphis Zoo

We took a day trip up to Memphis with our friends the Nash family. We had such a great time. We saw the entire zoo with very few complaints from the kids or the adults! The pandas were actually awake and eating their bamboo and the polar bears were swimming. I wish our zoo was as nice as the one in Memphis.

I Think I Can! I Know I Can!

Our little Ethan has started saying he can't do different things because he doesn't have a left hand. Well we know that he can. The other day Davis' brother's family was over and they were tossing the football. Ethan said he couldn't catch it because of his hand. Douglas got out there and tossed the ball to Ethan several times and he caught it almost every time! We don't want him to ever think that he can't do something because he doesn't have a hand. He can do ANYTHING he sets his mind to!!

Peyton's New Rifle

Well I new the day would come and it finally did. Davis bought Peyton his very own rifle. I didn't grow up around hunting and fishing but Davis' family lives and breathes it. We went out to the deer camp so Peyton could shoot the gun. Davis set up a target and got the gun's setting just right. Peyton took his first shot and hit the center of the bulls eye!

Takin' A Spin??

Ava decided to check out the inside of the dryer the other day. She looked like she was ready to take a spin. Olivia did the same thing when she was Ava's age. The boys never thought about it I guess. I think Olivia and Ava are going to be two peas in a pod. Oh boy!!!

Ava is one !!!!!

Our sweet baby girl turned one this past Sunday. I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. We have had Ava for 4 months today. She has been such a blessing. Just like Olivia and Ethan she just blended right in with our family like she had always been here. She now has 6 teeth and LOVES to eat. She will be walking at any time now. She has gained about 6 pounds since we first got her. She adores Peyton, is fascinated with Ethan's hair, and she's still not sure about Olivia. If Olivia gets too close to me Ava pushes her away and says"my mama". She loves her daddy but is definitely a mama's girl. I'll post a current picture soon.

Please Pray

We heard some very sad news this week. It seems that the Rhinovirus is going around Ava's orphanage in Vietnam. They have had 9 babies die over the past few weeks. Most of them had already been referred to families. Please pray that this virus has run it's course and no more babies will be lost. Also pray for the families who lost the children they had already begun to love as their own. I am so very thankful to God that we were able to get Ava home before winter began.
