Ethan's Thanksgiving Feast

We celebrated fall with Ethan's school last week. They put on a Thanksgiving program and then we had a Thanksgiving feast. All of the four year olds were pilgrims. Ethan was so cute and he sang his little heart out. We were so proud of our little pilgrim.

Fall Leaves

The kids decided to rake up the leaves in our backyard so they could jump into them. Our dog Macy decided to get in on the action too!

One Year Ago Today!!

We met our sweet Ava one year ago today! I can't believe it. The time has really flown by this time. She is one amazing little girl. She has been a firecracker from the start. She knows what she wants and she wants it yesterday!! She has brought us so much joy (and gray hair) over the past year. Happy Gotcha Day, Ava!! We love you.

Meet Bishop

Saturday morning Davis and Peyton went squirrel hunting. The little kids and I had Chinese school. I got up early, took my shower, and sat down at the computer to check my email. All of a sudden I heard a loud THUD. I thought the kids had thrown something at the wall. I turned and looked out the window and saw a poof of feathers. I just new a bird had flown into the glass, broke his neck, and died. The kids came running and I thought great another death conversation. Well it was a red cardinal and he was still alive!

Olivia says "Mama you have to help him because Diego always helps animals in trouble". Well Diego doesn't have a severe bird phobia like I do. So, I pick up the bird and put him in the yard hoping he will fly away. No such luck. I pick him up and we just stare at each other. I call Davis because is the family McGyver/Animal rescuer. He says put him in a box and I'll deal with it later. OK, I put him in a box with some water and seed and shut him in the half bath.

The kids and I decide to name him. Olivia wants to name him Steve. I said he really doesn't look like a Steve. How about Bishop (you know cardinal-catholic-Bishop- made sense to me). We get dressed and are about to leave when I go to check on Bishop. He's no longer in his box! He starts flying around, I freak out, slam the door(on my face), and scream. Then My next thought is -I have to get a picture for the blog! I get my camera and stick my hand in with the psycho bird and snap away.

My friend's husband was coming over to drop his daughter off so I asked him how good he was at catching birds. He says "One to keep or one to kill?". Neither, one to get out of my house! Thanks Eric for saving us and Bishop too.

Student Of The Week

Well, we have another Student of the Week here at the Wilson house. Peyton is the winner this week. He was so excited to be chosen. Not exactly sure what the honor brings other than an extra trip to the treat box. Congrats Peyton, we love you!!

Smores

We built a fire outside tonight and roasted hot dogs and smores. Ethan LOVES smores. I love this time of year. I wish we had this kind of weather all of the time.

Fall Fun

We had a family "fall fest" at my inlaws Saturday night. We grilled hamburgers and played several silly games. The kids had so much fun playing with their cousins.
