We received eight new pictures of Ava this morning!! Cherie, the family coordinator in Hanoi, visited the orphanage yesterday. I've been praying for new pictures but I never imagined I would get eight!! It looks like we may have our first thumb sucker. She is absolutely gorgeous!!

Magic 6

Well six families received travel dates yesterday. Unfortunately we were not among the "Magic 6". I am very happy for these families. At least the cases from Ava's orphanage are FINALLY clearing. Hopefully we will hear something this week or next. The Magic 6 group will be in Vietnam on 10/20. Maybe we'll get to go the weekend after. Who knows.

Going Bald and Fertilizer

Well it has now been FOUR WEEKS since Ava's referral and still NO TRAVEL DATES!! I don't mean to yell but AHH!!!! To make matters worse by the time we actually get to Vietnam I'm going to be completely bald from pulling my hair out waiting for TRAVEL DATES!!

OK, I'll stop yelling now. On a lighter note. Our dogs that had the puppies back in May are at it again. I'm not sure if you are aware but when dogs finish their "business" the male gets stuck for about 10 minutes. Well Peyton saw the dogs "stuck" this week. After much thought he said,"I know what they were doing. Milo was putting the eggs into Macy." I said no Macy already has the eggs. So then he says,"Oh, so Milo was fertilizing the eggs." I said yes. He then asked, "What kind of fertilizer does he use?". With as straight of a face as I could muster I said, "Puppy fertilizer".

Whining!!

It's been three weeks since we received Ava's referral. We still haven't heard about our travel dates. As far as I know no one has heard about travel dates. I've been doing good with the wait until now. I'm ready to know when we are going to Vietnam!! WAH! WAH! This was the hardest part with Olivia"s and with Ethan's adoptions. The wait for referral was tough but the wait for travel dates was excruciating! Please pray that we hear SOMETHING soon!!

New Pictures

We received two new pictures of Ava today. Cherie, PLAN's family liaison in Vietnam, took all of the referral pictures. She sent the link to PLAN families today so they could see if there were any pictures we didn't receive. In one of these she looks like contortionist!! The other one is just like a couple of the other ones but I'm thrilled to have it. It looks like she is smiling in her sleep!!

Baby Shower

My wonderful friends in our China group gave me a baby shower yesterday. We had it at Mellow Mushroom. I was so touched at the people who came. I felt guilty about having one since this is our 4th child. It was so much fun getting all of the baby girl stuff. Ava is set when it comes to clothes. It's sad to say but my kids dress way better than Davis and I do!!

Ava Is Six Months Old!!

Ava Rose turned six months old today! Happy half birthday our sweet angel!! I wish we could have brought her home before she turned six months old. We still haven't heard anything about travel dates. Our agency has received 42 referrals over the past month!! That is totally awesome. I just pray that Ava's paperwork is finalized quickly so we can get our travel dates. I can't really plan a lot until I know dates.

My niece who is going with us is studying about Vietnam before we go. She and her siblings are homeschooled. She interviewed her Great Uncle Roy today about his year in Vietnam during the war. My MIL said it was very moving and inspiring. Roy said that the Vietnamese people are wonderfully kind people. Erin asked him what his best experience was in Vietnam. He said it was seeing and playing with the Vietnamese children that they would meet when they were out. I wish I could have been there to hear it.
