My Niece and Brother

My sister-in-law sent me some pictures of my niece Madelynne. This time I was excited to see my little brother in some of them. My brother, Robert and his wife, Stephanie are expecting their second child around Christmas. Miss Madelynne turns two on August 28. They live in Murfreesboro, TN and Robert is the manager of the Cock of the Walk in Nashville. We miss them SO much. Aren't they too cute!!

Please Pray

Please pray for my Uncle Tommy & Aunt Shirley(my mom's older brother) and the rest of the family. Their youngest child, Jane, was found dead Friday morning. She was only 44 years old. She had a wreck several years ago that crushed her ankles. The coroner said that she died from a blood clot as a result of that accident. Her daughter just got married two week ago. Her son is stationed in NC with the Coast Guard. Her fiance' was the one who found her. Needless to say this has been devastating for our entire family. Thanks for your prayers.

Two Years Ago Today!!

Two years ago today we met Ethan for the first time. He is the sweetest child that I have ever known. He came right to me that day and has been a Mama's boy ever since. He was so small and so weak but now he can run and jump and play. It has been wonderful watching his personality come out. Ethan was our "surprise" adoption. We were not planning to adopt again just yet but when I saw his picture on CHI's Waiting Child list I knew he was meant to be ours. I am so glad that I followed my heart and this precious little boy is our son.

Four Years Ago Today

Four years ago today our sweet Olivia was placed in our arms. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. She has grown into a spunky little lady. She has more energy than ten people. She is very much a daddy's girl. She loves her brothers and baby sister. She is always eager to learn and to help anyone who needs it. She is beginning to learn to read, which is amazing to watch. She has been such a joy to watch grow these last four years. We are truly blessed to call her our daughter.

Peyton The Pitcher Part Deaux

Peyton had the chance to pitch last week. He did pretty good. He struck out one player. I think he looks like a natural. Don't you??

Memorial Day Fun

We had an impromptu cookout with Davis' parents and his brother's family. My kids always have a great time when their cousins come over to play. Davis went to Walmart and bought a croquet set. It was a bigger hit than I thought it would be. I am so glad that we did this. After the tragedy that the Chapman family suffered this week, it reminds me just how fragile life can be. We can get so caught up in our day to day activity that we forget to slow down and enjoy being with the ones we love. I know that I am guilty of assuming I have tomorrow.
