Our Travel Companions

We are so excited about going to get Ava. We hope to hear travels dates in the next few weeks. We are still hoping to travel in about 4-5 weeks. This time when we travel Peyton will go with us again but we are also taking our 12 year old niece, Erin. We are very excited about sharing this experience with her. She was like our first child. She was born while Davis and I were dating. Before we had Peyton we would get Erin a lot. We loved spending time with her and we still do. She has grown into a beautiful young Christian woman. The little kids will stay here with family. Ethan just isn't ready for international travel. He will need Olivia with him while we are gone. They are excited about staying with other people for three weeks.

It's A Girl !!

We got "the call" Thursday night that we have a new daughter and sister! I had been a nervous wreck all day. I had heard that PLAN had received a large batch of referrals. I drove poor Sandie at PLAN crazy with my emails. Finally about 6:15 she called! Ava is in Hanoi Orphanage #1 in Vietnam. She was born on 3/9/07. She is gorgeous! The orphanage sent a note with her pictures that said she is the brightest baby in the orphanage! We are so thankful to God for blessing us with this precious baby. I am also thankful to PLAN who have done and great job so far and have been very patient with me. We hope to go get Ava in about 6-8 weeks.

Baptism

Peyton made the decision to trust Christ as his Lord and Saviour about a year and a half ago. He wasn't ready to be baptised so we didn't push him. Last year he decided to make his decision public and be baptised. There is no greater feeling than watching your child come to know Christ. We are so proud of him.

Puppies

I never posted any pictures of the puppies that we had. The little boy now lives with Davis' brother so we still get to see him. The little girl went to live with a single lady in Florida. She is going to be so spoiled. I cried like a baby when she left. They are gorgeous dogs. The top picture is of the parent dogs. The black & white one is
Macy & the silver one is Milo. The top puppy is the girl.

Our T-ball Player

I don't have any adoption news to report so I thought ya'll might like to see some pictures. Olivia played t-ball for the first time this year. She LOVED it! I was an assistant coach. The girls were all so cute. The team was named the Ladybugs. We wanted to sign her up for soccer this fall but she missed the birthday cut off by two weeks. I'm going to sign her up for gymnastics this week. We have to keep this girl busy. She has enough energy for ten people!

ARGH!!!

Well I just read an email from our agency that said they do not expect any more referrals this month. So much for "soon". It looks like we won't travel until October at the earliest. It's frustrating knowing that we have been matched with a baby and she is steadily getting older. I found out that their is a family that has a DTV of 4/20. They have been DTV a week longer than me with no referral. It's funny that Vietnam moves quickly compared to China but this adoption will end up taking longer than Ethan's adoption. His was nine months from start to finish!

Another Week

Well, here we go again. We just went another week with no referral. Our agency says we are "matched" with a baby and they fully expect our referral to be in the next batch. The big question is when the next batch will come. All they can tell us is "soon". I have quit almost breaking my neck to answer the phone when it rings. It will happen "soon". I just have to be patient...... yeah, right!!

Another Tough Blow!

I just read an email from my agency stating that they received 12 referrals!! Again we were not in this batch. Who knows when we will get our call. She did say that we were matched with a baby but that some orphanages and provinces take longer to get their paperwork done. You would know that they would match us with a baby from a slow province since Davis and I are the most impatient people on the planet!! Maybe we'll hear soon.
