Ethan's K4 Graduation

Ethan graduated from K4 in early May. He LOVED school. He was the only one of my kids to be disappointed about school being out for the summer.

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend. We spent Sat. afternoon with our great friends the Blackwells. We went to Sonya's dad's house on Lake Caroline so the kids could fish. Ethan has been begging to go fishing. This was his very first fishing experience. He LOVED it!!! He and Olivia caught so many fish that we lost count. Ava and Peyton had fun too but they pooped out early. Mike & Sonya have a boy around Peyton's age and they were to busy playing to fish. We absolutely love this family. Davis and I have known Mike since we were kids and Sonya since they met about 15 years ago.
After church Sunday we went to Davis' cousin's house for lunch and an egg hunt. A lot of our usual attendees were not there this year. The kids got a quick egg hunt in before the rain started. I hope everyone had a great Easter also.

Broken Heart

I posted this to my China group needing advice. I'm posting it here hoping my readers may have some advice:

I thought I was prepared but I was not. My MIL told me today that Ethan was rubbing his little hand Fri and said "I wonder when my hand is going to grow out of this thing?". We sat him down tonight and explained that he wouldn't grow a hand. We told him how special he is and he can do anything he wants to and we all love him and his hand very much. It just broke my heart.
After our talk he went to brush his teeth and I heard him crying. We went in there and he was crying because he was never going to grow a hand. He wants one to grow because everyone else has two hands.
I am at a loss of how to help him. I told him it is OK to be sad that he doesn't have a hand but it is killing me to see him so upset. What do I do? How do I help him?

Ethan and Ava's Birthday Party

We celebrated Ethan's 5th and Ava's 2nd birthdays with a carnival themed party. We had several games set up in the garage. We had a football toss, bowling, ping pong toss, fishing, basketball, and pin the tail on the donkey. After they played the games and won a lot of prizes we had a pinata. I think the kids had a great time!

Granddaddy and All of His Kids and Grandkids

My dad had all three of his kids and all six of his grandkids at his house the other day. That has never happened and who knows when it will happen again!

Prince Charming??

While we were waiting in line to see the princesses, Peyton kept complaining that he didn't want to see them. Princesses are for girls. He refused to have his picture taken with Cinderella. My mom begged him to take a picture with Sleeping Beauty. He finally relented and went up there with the other kids. When he was about to walk off I ask her if she could take one with just Peyton. She was so good. She asked if she could take his arm. After that shot she leaned in and kissed him on the cheek and said "Oh my, he is turning as pink as my dress!". Everyone died laughing, including Peyton.

Disney World

Sorry it has taken me so long to post about our trip. We had a great time. We LOVE Disney World but 10 nights was a bit much. The first 5 days of the trip were rough. I didn't realize that the ENTIRE state of Louisiana would be there because they get a week off for Mardi Gras!! By Wednesday they started to leave and the crowds were MUCH smaller. Davis got really sick with something like the flu. Ethan is such a home body. He was ready to come home after about 3 days. All Peyton and Olivia wanted to do was swim at the hotel. Ava had the most fun. Here are a few pictures. I will have more later when the ones taken by the Disney photographers come in.
